4 In A Row

Memorial weekend rodeos were all about Brent and breakaway roping. Brent caught 4 in a row. Breakaway roping is an event that has a calf in the chute and the roper has a rope that is loosely tied to the saddle. The roper ropes the calf and when the rope breaks away from his saddle, then he gets a time. Who ever ropes the fastest is the winner.
On Friday Brent was up in Panguitch. He caught in 8 seconds and placed third. This was the first time he had won money at the Little Britches series. He was so excited. Then he caught again on Saturday in Nephi at the CUJR. He placed fifth. He caught on Sunday in Panguitch in 16 seconds but there were not a lot of kids that caught so he still placed fifth. On Monday he sped it back up again and caught in 8. He placed sixth.
It was really exciting to watch him excel in an event all weekend. It has really given him a big boost in confidence. It is also really good to see him and the new horse we bought in February start to come together. They are really working well as a team.
I call the picture above his four in a row pose. He was just totally smiling after each catch this weekend.
We really had a great time with all of our friends that weekend. It is great to see everyone helping everyone. All of the dad's help all of the kids with their events. The kids get to learn from a lot of different people which all makes them better.
