Brent's First 2-Handed Show

Brent got really motivated the last couple of weeks to work on his 2-handed 4H horse. A 2-handed horse is a colt that is under 5 years old and has never been show in a solid bit. It is a great program to help kids work with young horses. They learn a lot about training, patience and horsemanship.

We took Brent and Sass to their first 2-Handed show together on Thursday June 21. The show was not perfect but it was a really great first effort. Brent took 2nd in Showmanship, 1st in Pleasure, 2nd in Equitation and 1st in Trail. He ended up first in his age group for the whole show.

He had a really good work in pleasure. They really got along great. She was not as good in the classes when she was in by herself.

He was so excited after the show. I think this type of sucess is really starting to help his confidence.
