PHSC Show Delta

Last weekend we went to the PHSC Show in Delta. The PHSC is an open horse show circuit in Central Utah. They are just a fun show. We try to make it to a few a year.

Racheal is over 14 so she now has to show with the adults. She does really well even with them. She placed 4th in Discipline on the Rail, 6th in Handy Horse and 2nd in Barrels. She has the best barrel run she has had in a long time. Her first barrel was really good and that is the one she has been struggling with. She was only .2 seconds from first place. It was really amazing.

Brent took 3rd in the Youth Pleasure, 1st in Barrels, 1st in Poles, 1 in Speed and Intelligence and 2nd in Keyhole. He had a great run in Speed and Intelligence. His time was better than most of the adults. We are going to try to make it to the next 4 shows. Brent is going to try for All Around Youth. Since he can ride both disciplines show and speed, I think he has a really good chance.

The best class of the day was Discipline on the Rail. Brent decided to try it last minute. So we hurried and got him entered. Racheal and Coy were already doing it. In Discipline on the Rail, the judge can ask for any mmaneuver on horse like stop, side pass, lope, counter lead, back, lead change etc. This judge was tough she had them doing a ton of different things. Then halfway through the class. She made them ride without stirrups. It was so funny. She even made them ride an extended trot without them. That is really tough.

The kids had a lot of fun and Racheal even beat her dad. We have to give him a really hard time when that happens. Brent was doing really good in the class but he missed a lead. Racheal placed 4th and it was a tough class. I was really proud of her.
